There are two different types of jailbreak to distinguish. In the case of tethered jailbreaks (“connected” jailbreaks), it is only possible to restart the unlocked computer using a separate computer. So if it crashes or shuts down, you have to connect it to your computer first and start it with the corresponding software. This impractical release of the system has lost ground to untethered jailbreaks (“offline” jailbreaks), which allow devices to be started without outside help.
